Our Basic Life Support First Aid courses being held in November

October 14, 2019/in News /by Office Procare

We are running two basic life support first aid courses in November from our in-house training facility. This course is perfect for teaching people basic life saving skills in the event of an emergency that could save a casualties life or prevent them from further serious injury.

Here are photos of a recent basic life support first aid course held from our in-house training facility.

We have training officers that have years of experience training people lifesaving first aid. We are an award-winning health and social care agency that deliver training that bring high standards to the field of care especially in first aid.

ProCare Nursing have been providing training to businesses and organisations for many years, both in the private and the public sector. We are a health and social care agency that was established in 1997, we have over 20 years’ experience delivering care to locations all over Cardiff and train all our carers in-house including life saving first aid. Here is a run down of what the course entails and what you will be learning on the 3-hour course.

Course dates

Our next basic life support first aid course dates are:

> 1st of November 2019, 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

> 12th of November 2019, 10am to 1pm.

Course duration:

3-hours Basic life support

Purpose:

This course enables participants to gain a better understanding of how to provide lifesaving support to a casualty.

Course content:

• Role and Responsibilities of the First Aider

• Unconscious Casualty

• CPR

• Shock / Anaphylaxis shock

• Choking

This course can really help save someone’s life; it can also prevent a casualty occurring any further injuries while waiting for professional help to arrive at the scene.

For example, if someone is choking or in shock, or needs to be put into a recovery position, and you do not know what to do in the time it takes for the ambulance to arrive at the scene, then there can be serious risk that a person could suffer further injury such as brain damage being an example, what if someone is choking but you do not know how to dislodge the blockage, the person choking cannot breathe and therefore is starving the brain of oxygen which then can lead to serious brain damage.

These are the facts, we are not trying to scare you, but the NHS record thousands of emergencies and if people knew first aid skills our basic life support course teaches, then further injury is avoidable.
