ProCare Nursing QCF training courses help save lives

July 2, 2019/in News /by Office Procare

All of our training courses are carried out in-house to ensure quality control, a few days ago we wrote about the benefits of in-house training so now we are going to look a little deeper into the teaching on the course.

All of our nurses and carers are trained and equipped to deal with any emergency. When we say emergency what kind of emergency? Here we look at two scenarios, one, cardiac arrest and two, choking.

We provide thorough mandatory training to all of our care workers. There is also the opportunity to certify carers depending on their role to a QCF level 2, 3 and 5 certificate in care assistance work. In our training we look at things like CPR and what a carer should do if someone goes into cardiac arrest.

Well firstly CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, after calling for an ambulance the action required is for a carer to press up and down on the casualty’s chest (this is known as chest compression), after 30 chest compression’s the carer will also give the casualty two deep breathes in through the mouth, this process should be continued until the person regains consciousness and starts breathing again or until professional help arrives.

Here is a video from the British Heart Foundation that explains all you to know about the symptoms of heart attacks and what to do in that situation including CPR procedure.

Here are a few photo’s of a group of carers on one of our training days learning how to do CPR.

The next scenario is what does a carer do in the event of someone choking. Choking is when a persons airways can become either partly blocked or fully blocked, if the airways are blocked completely then immediate first aid attention is needed to save someones life from choking.

Our training courses provide all of the necessary techniques to help someone who is choking, from people at home or in hospital ward units, whatever the environment we equip our carers in the event that someone is choking.

Here is a video from St Johns Ambulance that explains what to do if someone is choking.

Here we are only looking at the tip of the iceberg in the kind of training that we provide, we train carers in other aspects of care depending on the level of care a carer provides such as manual handling, administering medication and how to use a defibrillator in the event of someone having a cardiac arrest, if you decide to use our agency you can have confidence that our carers are well trained and that your loved ones are in good hands.

If you require any information with regards to our courses get in touch, we train carers from other agencies and many other organisations working in the care sector, and because we have our own in-house facilities we can train a great number of carers from our head office throughout the year.
